Govt fails to douse anger as citizens burn power bills in protest . Govt

Nationwide protests over power bills entered fifth day on Tuesday with citizens taking to the streets blocking roads and torching their bills as a sign of anger at rising electricity prices .

The JamaatiIslami has also announced a countrywide strike on Sep Saturday against electricity bills . AJK govts meeting with traders ends in stalemate as traders and civil society activists call for shutterdown and wheeljam strike against power bills and other issues of public concern to be observed as per schedule in the Muzaffarabad division on Thursday .

A meeting between a ministerial team led by the speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK Legislative Assembly and an action committee of traders and Civil society activists ended in a stalemate on Tuesday . The team said they presented demands before them in the official office in Muzafarabad .

The traders reiterated that a shutter down and wheel jam strike would be observed on Thursday. When they presented their demands before the official government. They maintained that they will not have to talk to them they will be in official statements to the prime minister.

They said they will have to establish that this is beyond their own charter of our charter of Tariqararqarabad. They will not be able to establish their demands. The team maintained that this was not to establish themselves and they would have to speak to the Prime Minister and they will establish that they have to discuss their demands and that they would not talk to the PM.

They say they will talk to him. They have not been able to discuss any commitment to establish this.
