Reports of Heath Streak dying of cancer surfaced online on Wednesday . The former Zimbabwe captain has since said that he is alive and well . The yearold was diagnosed with colon cancer in May according to the Sportstar . He retired from international cricket in October and is regarded as one of the most successful Zimbabwean cricketer to lead his country in Tests and ODIs .
Henry Olonga posted on X formerly known as Twitter about the death of his ex-teammate . The nowdeleted post stated that Streak had crossed to the other side . However just hours later he shared a screenshot of his WhatsApp conversation with Streak in which the duo had a lighthearted conversation about all the reports circulating online .
He said he has been in good health and recovering from cancer and is ‘hurt by the news he was quoted as saying he was hurt by the reports of his ‘passing’ Reports of his death have also been retracted by Reuters one of many to report the supposed passing also withdrew its report .
