JIT comprising 2 intelligence officers to probe ‘malicious social media campaign’

The interior ministry has constituted a special joint investigation team JIT to probe the malicious social media campaign and trolling against Islamabad High Court IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq . The IHC had been hearing former premier Imran Khans appeal against a trial courts decision that convicted the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana case .

Imran was convicted and sentenced to three years in jail on August by a trial court in the case but the IHC suspended his sentence today . Imran had also filed a petition before the Supreme Court requesting the transfer of all his cases being adjudicated in IHC to some provincial high courts .

The bar strongly condemned the ongoing malicious campaign circulating on social media against IHC chief justice on Sunday . The statement did not mention anyone in particular as responsible for the reported campaign . The team would submit a preliminary report to the ministry within days.

Imran was sentenced to 3 years in prison in August by the trial court but the . IHC was convicted of a trial in the . case in July by a judge in the case but was released on a suspended sentence today but the judge was allowed to stay in jail . Imran Khan had also requested a transfer of his case to some provinces .

The Islamabad High . Court Bar Association also criticised the alleged campaign. The bar said in a statement on Sunday that it did not name anyone in an earlier version of the report. The report was released by the court. The IHS Bar Association said that it had not yet issued a statement that the IHS had not issued a reference to the case.

It has not stated that it was not an error. It is not an allegation of an error of error of any error of errors of error. The case was alleged to have occurred.
