Shehbaz Sharif said PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan in October . The former prime minister departed the country in November for medical treatment following his conviction in a corruption case . Geo News citing informed sources reported that the elder Sharifs date of return would be October .
Earlier this month reports of Nawazs impending return once again started making the rounds but no official announcement was made from Nawaz himself . The elder Sharif departed Pakistan in November and has not returned since . He was deemed an absconder the following February after being declared as a proclaimed offender in courts declared him as a proclaimed offender later in courts declaring him as an absconder and declared a permanent offender .
The announcement comes as Shehbsbaz also criticised a sitting Supreme Court judge for what he characterised as undue concern for PTI chief Imran Khan while not having the same sentiments for his brother and his niece . He also decried that fake cases were made against him and his elder brother during the PTI tenure adding that their political victimisation came forth to the world when they were granted clean chits by the courts .
ShehBaz said transparent accountability was the need of the hour and should be held across the board . The PMlN president also said that he would fully facilitate the ECP for free fair and transparent elections and that Pakistan cannot move forward. He added that his party had dissolved assemblies and that it is the legal and the chief election commissioner to hold elections.
