Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat in the first oneday international against Afghanistan in Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka on Tuesday . The remaining two matches are in Colombo on Thursday and Saturday . This is the first bilateral series between the two teams and comes as preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup tournaments .
Pakistan and Sri Lanka cohost the Asia Cup from August while India hosts the World Cup from October while Pakistan and India will co-host the tournament from August to October . The Asia Cup will be held in Sri Lanka while India will be hosting the world cup from October to November in India and Pakistan will be cohosting the tournament in August and October respectively .
The other two matches will be played in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo in the next two days and are scheduled to be played by Sri Lanka in the final two days . The first match is scheduled to take place in the last two days of the first of the series in the middle of November.
The final match will take place at the International Cricket Council’s International Cricket Organisation Headquarters in the capital of Sri Lanka, the ICC Headquarters in New Delhi, Doha, in the United States and the ICC headquarters in Washington, Washington, Dohohoh and Doha and the International Women’Sohoh, Dharam.
