World Squash Federation finds ‘no evidence’ of discrepancy in Hamza Khan

Pakistan’s Hamza Khan won the World Junior Squash Championship on June after beating Egypt’s Mohamed Zakaria . The Egyptian Squash Federation alleged that Khans age was different from the one on his passport . WSF investigated the matter and gave a clean chit to the athlete .

Hamza said he was glad that the matter was cleared up and added that he was focusing on an upcoming senior tournament in London which was set to begin on November . The WSF said there is no medically recognised procedure that can measure an individuals age without a significant margin of error .

It further noted that Khan competed in official international junior events for a number of years and had the same date of birth registered on every occasion . The former World No Shahid Zaman is his maternal uncle and the legendary Qamar Zaman happens to be a close relative of Hamzas father.

Hamza also said that his ultimate goal is to bring back the big titles the British Open and the World Open to Pakistan’s British Open tournament in November 2014 . The matter was considered closed now. The matter is now considered closed and the matter is believed to be between the Egyptian and Pakistan Squash federation have been informed about the investigations outcome and the outcome of the investigation is considered closed.
