SC rejects PTI chief’s plea seeking stay on trial court proceedings in Tosh

The Supreme Court SC on Wednesday rejected PTI Chairman Imran Khans plea seeking to stay a trial courts proceedings in the Toshakhana case . Imran had moved the SC and urged the apex court to set aside the IHC directive . The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP had disqualified Imran Khan last year for making false statements and incorrect declaration under Article p of the Constitution .

In May Islamabad Additional District and Sessions Judge ADSJ Hamayun Dilawar had rejected the PTI chairman’s challenge to the maintainability of the reference and indicted him in the case . On Wednesday a twomember bench comprising Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Musarrat Hilali took up Imrans plea .

Just before the hearing began there was a ruckus outside the courtroom at which the judges expressed their displeasure. The judges asked Imrans counsel Khawaja Haris to resolve the matter outside the court . The judges emphasised the importance of respecting the court.

The courtroom staff briefly left due to the rucksus but returned once the situation was resolved once the courtroom was resolved . The court expressed hope that the court hoped that the case would hear all identical petitions filed by Imran Khan would be heard in this case .

The case referred the case back to IHC and disposed of the petition . The IHC order in the . case had already been implemented and a hearing on a petition against the trial court was scheduled for tomorrow. ECP lawyer Amjad Pervez stated that the ICP was scheduled to be scheduled for a hearing was scheduled on Tuesday.
