Action sought against ‘corrupt’ Chitral wildlife officials . Action sought

Members of the village conservation committee VCC of Denin Lasht here have asked the caretaker chief minister to take action against the chief conservator and divisional forest officer DFO of the wildlife department for manipulating the election of the organisation .

They alleged when the incumbent president of VCC Fazlur Rahman had been holding the office of the president for last years since its inception in and was determined to hold onto the post by any means . The DFO got cancelled the membership of those opposing his moves thus converting their majority into minority they alleged .

They expressed their determination to foil Mr Rahmans attempt to get him reelected in a fraudulent way and make the conservation body a vibrant one to protect the population of Kashmir markhor and other biodiversity . They said a large amount of money was wasted as the structure failed to serve the purpose.

They regretted the president did never yield to divulge the accounts of the VCC despite their repeated requests. They demanded of the President did not yield to disclose the facts of the account of their own VCC. The elders alleged in the president had given the contract to construct a wildlife sanctuary in the conservancy to his brother and committed corruption in league with the then officers of wildlife.

They also demanded of an audit of the accounts. They said A large amount was wasted. They added that a large . amount of time was wasted by the president failed to provide the information. They were not willing to divulged to divulgent the accounts to the VCR.

The president did not disclose the accounts for the VCL. Despite their repeated request. They described the president.
