China issues red alert for torrential rain in Beijing, surrounding provinces . Flood warnings issued

Typhoon Doksuri swept into southern Fujian province on Friday morning with gusts of up to kilometres per hour . Chinas weather service on Saturday issued a red alert for torrential rain in the capital Beijing and surrounding provinces . The red alert will be in force from pm local time and covers an area of several hundred million inhabitants including the metropolis of Tianjin and the provinces of Hebei and Shandong .

China has been experiencing extreme weather conditions and posting record temperatures this summer events that scientists say are being exacerbated by climate change . Experts have warned the downpour could prompt even worse flooding than in July when people died and tens of thousands were evacuated according to local media .

The stormy weather follows weeks of record heat in China . The typhoon is expected to last through Tuesday. The storm has also caused serious damage to the area. The typhoons have also caused significant damage to a number of minor injuries to the region. The storms are expected to hit the mainland. The weather has been described as ‘unhealthy’ and ‘dangerous’ in the region’.
