IHC reserves verdict on PTI chief’s petitions pertaining to Toshakhana

Islamabad High Court IHC reserved its verdict on petitions filed by Imran Khan against Toshakhana trial . Imran had filed these applications in the IHC after a trial court last month declared the Election Commission of Pakistans ECP reference against him was maintainable .

The charges were framed against the PTI chief on May . However IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq stayed the proceeding and recently directed Additional District and Sessions Judge ADSJ Humayun Dilawar to reexamine the matter in seven days . Yesterday Judge Dilawar ruled that Imran had failed to prove the relevance of his witnesses in court and asked the defence counsel to conclude the arguments or else the court would reserve an order on the complaint .

The IHC CJ lamented that in political cases arguments were delivered both in the evening and morning referring to media coverage of matters . The verdict on the petitions will be announced tomorrow Friday. The verdict is expected to be announced at the end of the day .
