Security concerns to be raised with ICC, says minister on cricket team’s travel

Interprovincial Coordination Minister EhsanurRehman Mazari said Pakistan had security concerns regarding the national cricket teams travel to India for this years over World Cup . Pakistan and India have played each other only in multiteam events at neutral venues over the last decade as bilateral cricket remains stalled between the South Asian neighbours due to soured political relations .

The decision was taken by a committee which was set up by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last month chaired by Foreign Minister Bilawal BhuttoZardari . In June the ICC revealed the muchawaited World Cup fixtures with Pakistan scheduled to play archrivals India in a marquee clash in Ahmedabad in midOctober .

The schedule for the tournament was released nearly two weeks after the draft schedule of matches was shared with the cricket boards of all participating teams . However immediately after the announcement the PCB stated that it would still need government clearance for any tour to India including World Cup match venues .

If Pakistan are given the green signal to play in Ahmedabab that would see them locking horns against India in front of spectators at the Narendra Modi Stadium the worlds largest cricketing venue . The World Cup is set to be played from Oct to Nov. If Pakistan were given the red-and-white jersey would be played in the World Cup at the Modi Stadium in the capital, it would be the most famous cricketing stadium in the world .

The ICC would see Pakistan in the middle of the tournament in the region of Ahmedabad. The ICC has been described as ‘the most famous cricketers in the United Arab Emirates in the country. The tournament. The Pakistan team. The world. The World.
