Inzamamamul Haq appointed as chief selector of men’s cricket team

This will be Inzamam ul Haq’s second tenure as the chief selector . Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn will also be in the committee . No other former Pakistani player was named on the committee which was headed by Haroon Rasheed . Rasheed was appointed as the selection committee chief in January of this year following the removal of Muhammad Wasim from the same role in December .

The committee also includes a secretary Hasan Cheema who is dealing with data analysts for the Pakistan team . The former Pakistan captain led Pakistan in Test matches winning and losing while nine ended in draw . He also led the team in ODIs with wins and losses while three matches ended with no result .

He has worked with Arthur during his previous tenure which saw Pakistan lift the Champions Trophy triumph before failing to qualify for the semifinals of ICC World Cup in India and during the sides tour to Australia later this year . Arthur is scheduled to take charge of the Asia Cup and will be available for the World Cup this month .

He is yet to physically join the team as he has been busy with his coaching assignment with English County side Derbyshire but he is due to take over from the Asian Cup in the latter part of the tournament in England and is scheduled for the Asian ODI series in India .

He will be ready to take on India and Australia in September 2015. He has been away for the Asia cup in Australia and the ODI in Australia in mid-November. He is due for the OIC series in mid October. He will not be available to be available in time for the mid-October.
